A username, email and password are required to create a Hindustan Pedia account. You may optionally provide details such as your name, mobile number, designation, biography and photo. Relevant information is used to operate your account, verify email, review contributions, send essential notices and prevent abuse.

What may be public?

Your contributor name, public biography, designation, photo, badges and approved articles may appear on the website. Your email and mobile number are not displayed on your public contributor page. Do not include private phone numbers, identity documents or confidential personal information in articles.

Sign-in and security

Essential cookies support sign-in and request security. Security records may include login attempts and a hashed network identifier. If you choose the editor’s local recovery option, that copy remains in your browser. Use that option carefully on a shared computer.

Updating information or requesting deletion

Update your public details in your account profile. Request an email change through the contributor portal. Use the contact page for personal-information or account-deletion requests. Articles, anonymised contribution history and necessary moderation records may remain after account deletion. Backup and email records may not be removed immediately.

Service providers

Hosting and email service providers may process information needed to operate the website and deliver essential emails. External websites linked as sources have their own privacy practices.
