Understand article tags
Tags describe issues found during review. They help explain rejection, requests for improvements or removal of a published page. Read each meaning, example and suggested correction below.
Duplicate page
The same subject already has a page. Search first and suggest changes to that page. After an explicit warning, another new submission matching the warned title triggers a one-calendar-month account suspension. Different people sharing a name are not automatically the same subject.
Example: creating another page for a person who already has one. Suggest corrections to the existing page instead.
Unreliable sources
Use identifiable, credible sources that directly support the claims. A social post or promotional biography alone does not independently verify every claim.
Example: an award claim supported only by an unidentified social post. Use the awarding organisation or a credible news source.
Missing references
Add a labelled reference link near the relevant facts, especially dates, qualifications, awards and potentially disputed statements.
Example: a birth date, qualification or achievement is listed without a supporting reference.
Neutrality needs work
Separate established facts from opinion. Attribute criticism or praise to reliable sources and represent relevant context fairly.
Example: personal praise or criticism replaces factual description. Use balanced wording supported by sources.
Copyright or image rights
Use material you own or have permission to reuse. Follow the source licence and provide any required attribution.
Example: uploading a photo without permission or an appropriate licence. Check reuse permission and required credits.
Privacy concern
Remove private phone numbers, addresses, identity documents and unnecessary personal information. Use reliable public sources for biographical facts.
Example: publishing a private mobile number, home address or identity document.
Incomplete or unclear page
Add relevant sections, clear headings and readable prose. Remove empty templates and correct broken formatting before resubmission.
Example: empty headings, an unfinished introduction or a broken table. Complete the relevant text and formatting.
Warnings and account restoration
An administrator first identifies the existing page and issues a warning. Another new duplicate submission matching that known title then suspends the account for one calendar month. Suggesting an edit to the existing page is a separate process. An administrator can restore the account early. After the period ends, login becomes available again unless another restriction applies.
